Galgorm Castle Golf Club

Galgorm Castle Golf Club is one of Ireland’s finest Championship parklands and is the Home
of the European Tour Group’s Northern Ireland Open. Recognized as Ireland’s
‘Parkland Course of the Year 2014’ by the Irish Golf Tour Operators Association,
Galgorm Castle is consistently ranked among the top Parklands in Northern
Ireland.

The Par-72, Championship layout designed by Simon Gidman has recently been
lengthened to 7105 yards from the Championship tees and is nestled in the heart of
Galgorm Castle’s historic 220-acre estate, providing a mature setting that promotes
an easy, relaxing rhythm that makes playing golf so pleasurable.

Galgorm Resort & Spa was recognized as Ireland’s ‘Large Golf Hotel of the Year 2016’ by the Irish Golf Tour Operators Association and offers a true haven of tranquility and relaxation with their Thermal Spa Village, the first of its kind in Europe.

The Castle

Galgorm Castle is soaked in history with events dating back to 1607 and the Jacobean Castle remains the centrepiece of the thriving Estate.
Galgorm Castle is one of the finest examples of Jacobean architecture in Ireland. In May 1607, King James I granted the Ballymena Estate to Rory Og MacQuillan, a mighty warrior, famous for stating “No Captain of this race ever died in his bed,” (which thankfully means Galgorm Castle has one less ghost.). His Castle overlooks and dominates the tenth green and a network of souterrains at the fifth and eighth greens.
